Remind me why I pretend to find Jon Walker's flip-flops "cool" or "intriguing" even though when I see guys in real life wearing flip-flops I want to stomp on their toes. Remind me that it's okay to not find Vicky-T particularily attractive, because what it all boils down to are the bands and the poems they put to music. Ugh. | so, I am going to start a catalogue of the many ways Murder by Death are related to bandom. If you have any idea who I'm talking about, please, pimp! There must be other people here who have heard of them. (I'm not putting this under a cut because it's not that long and I want people to get an idea as to what I'm talking about. If you want me to put it under a cut, then I will.) If you have no idea who I'm talking about, meet Murder by Death. I don't even know how to describe their style, but they have a cello. It might lean towards a country-alt-rock thing? I don't know. Anyways. They used to be Little Joe Gould, and the line-up changed along the way, but no matter what, they're awesome. Their most obvious connection with bandom would be their bff-ness with My Chemical Romance. Gerard Way does vocals on The Devil in Mexico off of Murder by Death's second album, Who Will Survive, and What Will be Left of Them? He screams his lungs out during the last minute or so. On Bullets, the band thanks Little Joe Gould. On Revenge, MCR thanks Murder by Death, Mikey thanks "Alex Schrodt, Sarah Balliet, Adam Turla, Matt Armstrong (and) Vincent Edwards," Ray thanks "Alex, Vincent, Adam, Matt and Sarah," and Frank thanks "Matt, Alex, Adam, Vince and Sara MDB." Gerard doesn't list them specifically, but says "Everyone on Mikey's list." Aaaaand, according to an anon named Sara on my primer, "when frank first joined mcr they did an interview and frank mentions how awesome they are." If anyone has this scanned/etc, please let me know! Then we have:  l-r, this is (very old school) Adam (Turla, MBD), Mikey (Way, MCR), Sarah (Balliet, MBD), Ray (Toro, MCR), and Matt (Armstrong, MBD). I have way too many effing fanfiction ideas in my head. It's going to eat me alive. There's the Antonia series I want to do, but I'm not even sure who's pov tht would be from. I wanna do Justin's, but at the same time, I want to do hers so she can talk about Justin's problems. IDK. Then there's Solos&Ways, and the Bandom as ravers, etc etc etc. I also want to maybe start a bit of a portfolio, just in case, which means I should start some non-fanfiction peices. *sigh* It's not that I don't have the time, because I really, really do, between me being afraid to get a job and my borderline insomnia and my friends working all the time (and/or not inviting me over) I really, really, really do have the time, just not the inspiration/dedication/confidence/etc. etc.
I'm gonna go back to, well, doing nothing in Planning... WAIT, TODAY IS MY LAST DAY OF PLANNING! THE LAST DAY I EVER HAVE TO BE IN THIS ROOM! HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK, I COULD SCREAM. YES. | |

And yes, I know I'm kind of a n00b/fangirl, but I just started actually going to concerts recently, and this is my first time ever seeing any of these bands. So gimme some slack? | |
